Why buy New when you can Source used Parts from Breakers and Reuse them in the Car by Reprogramming the VIN the Software in the Modules to Adapt and Match the Setting of the Vehicle they are reused in. You can also write the Vin to New Parts purchased.
Note: VIN change for Some Modules is Not Possible via OBD but they can still be adapted into the car and can work. Most modules it's possible to write a VIN again via OBD.
VIN Cannot Be Changed If Already Written:
As a Backup it's good to Posses a JLR VCI cable and we setup the SDD Dealer tools for you optionally to help solve issues in cars that are not solvable by Lock50 HW04 OBD tools.

Program and modify UWB/PEPS key configurations for 2017-2025+ vehicles.
You can use this option with Unlocked RFA only
When your RFA is Locked then this option does not work.
When RFA is Unlocked
If Vehicle has the UWB PEPS keys and you want to program new keys that are cheaper non OEM HW17/HW18 types that don't have UWB - these can be used without loss of keyless entry functions.
Swapping to New Unlocked RFA
By swapping to a new unlocked new RFA is another method to do this and adapt to the vehicle with B or higher packages even when BCM is locked.
1 Click Solution
There is a way to use cheaper keys and not lose functions for the users of the Vehicles - you can do this by 1 Click and Remove the Need to use OEM UWB keys and you can use the Cheaper keys with this function or OEM keys HW21 to HW26 if you prefer.
Perfect for Damaged UWB Systems
Also perfect function to use when UWB systems are damaged and prevent key learning till replaced - this way you do not need to replace the UWB system in vehicles.
Locked RFA Systems - EVA2 Models
However in some cases the following is possible for Locked RFA systems - When car is EVA2 and user is a C+ user or has a token to use it then we can unlock the EVA2 models RFA and then can use OEM keys with UWB or can use this option then to turn off UWB to learn the cheaper non UWB keys this way.
1. PEPS OEM Keys - HW21 to HW26
Which is Keys the Dealers Use. This way if you're doing a spare key then you program back the Clients Working keys and avoid giving another OEM UWB Keys and give the keys types below.
2. Non PEPS OEM Keys - HW15 to HW16
Has Functions Keyless Start but you loose Keyless function on the doors and must press button on keys open close Vehicles doors.
3. PEPS NON UWB Non OEM Keys - HW17 or HW18
Has Functions Keyless to enter and Start and works same as UWB Keys. This key can be Lock50 Keys or keys from any supplier when the RFA Module is Unlocked.
Turn off UWB/PEPS with just 1 click! This enables you to program non-UWB keys (HW17/HW18) instead of expensive OEM original keys. Save money on every job while maintaining full keyless functionality.
If the UWB module in your vehicle is damaged and the keys don't work with keyless entry anymore, SW25 can fix this! By turning off the UWB function, the keyless feature will work again using standard keys. This is a much cheaper solution than replacing the expensive UWB hardware.

SW26 is a more advanced way to make UWB OFF and does not need to edit CCF. Instead of using OBD, the RFA adapter HW03-C is connected directly to the RFA module. This method is used when clients keys don't work via keyless anymore due to UWB system faults.
Use Lock50 HW13/HW14 Keys
Copy from RFA using the key duplicator function
Use Client's Existing Keys
Read the client's keys on the reader and copy them
If you use the client's keys on the reader instead of Lock50 keys, then after this process - if the client's keys were NOT working via keyless, they will start working again. This function makes keys work that are already working via duplicator and also fixes non working keyless functions on their keys. If keys were working before they will still keep working and only non working UWB PEPS keys HW21 to HW26 types can be repaired this way.
When RFA is Locked
When the RFA is Locked and the clients keys are not fully working. The keys work for Emergency Start or you can press the button to open and close the car only.
UWB System Damaged
When you Have UWB errors and the system is damaged and not working keyless anymore with the clients keys.
TCU Issues
Also when the TCU cables are damaged or not plugged in or the TCU backup battery has become Low then this function is required.
Then you can still make the keys work again by turning off the UWB function by patching it in the TCU telematics Units. This Way SOS messages will not appear any more on the IPC and the keys can work without having to emergency start and can use the keys normally again without repairing the UWB System in the Vehicles.
Only B, C or C+ tools can use CCF editor SW24 to remove the TCU telematics from the BCM settings. But note the main cable for TCU must always be plugged in - and if GPS and other cables are damaged then those functions don't work but car can start and work keylessly.

Mostly BCM are Unlocked unless the Dealer has applied the Latest Updates to Lock then Down. The Locking of the BCM starts from 2017 up to 25+ Vehicles and mostly 21+ are Locked always.
When the BCM is not been locked then its possible to swap a New RFA and adapt it to work in the Vehicle without having to have a New or Virgin BCM.
After Swapping RFA and Updating the Software in the Lock50 the user then goes to the PEPS Options and runs the Command called "Replace RFA". Once started the Vehicles will either complete if the BCM is not locked or will give an Error that says "2 Keys Required or Authentication Failed" when BCM is Locked.
If BCM is Locked you can still use the SW28 function to bypass it and still be able to adapt a new RFA only without a new BCM.
Also if the car has UWB you can use the SW36 Duplicator to Make a Copy of keys without changing to a new RFA even the BCM is Locked and RFA is Locked and is a faster way to do a new Key.

When swapping a Remote Function Actuator (RFA) in newer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles (typically 2017 to 2025+), the Body Control Module (BCM) is often "locked." Standard dealer tools like TOPIx Cloud usually require you to replace both the RFA and the BCM to program new keys, which is costly and time-consuming.
However, tools like the Lock50 HW04 series are designed to bypass this requirement using specialized software functions.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Tool Required | Lock50 HW04-B or HW04-C |
| Software Function | SW28 (RFA Replacement with Locked BCM) |
| Compatibility | 2017–2024+ models (including L460, L461, L663) |
| BCM Support | Supports locked L8B2, R8E2, and M8E2 S8E2 BCM types |
If you was doing a spare key you can still swap back the Original RFA and the clients old key will still work and nothing is broken.
Option 1: SW28 Function via OBD
Use SW28 function to bypass it and still be able to adapt a new KVM/RFA only without a new BCM by using the Special Function Replace KVM/RFA when BCM is Locked
Option 2: SW36 Duplicator
If the car has UWB you can use the SW36 Paid Duplicator option to Make a Copy of keys without changing to a new RFA even the BCM is Locked and RFA is Locked and is a faster way to do a new Key.
Option 3: SW30 Function
Use the SW30 Function and Add OEM Keys into the EVA2 2020+ which have PIVI Pro systems and Locked RFA & BCM. When you have 2 working keys you're allowed to add the 3rd Key and supply a OEM Key to your clients. Or when you have 1 key to add spare key via OBD you can use the client's phone to Activate Service Mode to Allow New OEM key to be added on the Locked RFA and BCM vehicle using OBD and without touching RFA or BCM.
You need a new RFA to use this function for 21+ Cars which have been back to Dealerships for Software updates and cannot be programmed with others tools without first putting a new BCM in the Car.
Lock50 allow you to avoid messing with BCM or having to remove it and can program keys to a New RFA still using the HW03B adapter with HW04 Lock50 OBD tools and this function only is needed is you need to erase lost keys.
Otherwise the Key copy SW36 functions is faster and the option to Add OEM Keys in the Locked system can Allow you to give your clients exactly what they required.
Function to use needs to be Activated for Each use unless purchase Any Time Licence. HW04-B and HW04-C users can purchase the Full function for unlimited use anytime.
To avoid new RFA programming for EVA2 models, it is possible to add keys via OBD using Service Mode without swapping to a new RFA.
B Package Need to replace with new or make RFA virgin first - is OK this way
C Package Can also copy a key from locked RFA onto Lock50 HW13/HW14 keys
C+ Package Can even unlock the RFA directly for EVA2 models and be able to add keys or erase keys after RFA unlocking using the SW28 function - all without swapping modules
If you have no keys: Use Duplicator to make copy of 2 keys first onto HW13/HW14 keys. It's possible to also add OEM or Non OEM keys into the Locked RFA. For C or C+ users only unless have a token to use with lower packages.

After unlocking, all standard functions become available, including firmware update, adding/removing keys and replacing RFA.
You need to connect with the HW03-E and the Internal CAN using HW03-B or HW03-C adapters.
DOIP Ethernet connection
CAN2 wires connection
Direct RFA connection
The function does not always require any keys (supports AKL situations when not armed) for Most Vehicles
If you want to unlock the Vehicles RFA via OBD will require 2 Working Keys to able to Unlock the RFA
If you have 1 or no keys then an additional CAN wires connection is Required. Use the HW03-B for Direct CAN2 connection in door modules or use the HW03-C adapter with F1 and M1 Adapters and Unlock the RFA without any need to locate the CAN2 Manually.
After Unlocking RFA you can erase keys and new ones or just add new ones without erasing old ones.
