When the BCM is not locked, you can swap a New RFA and adapt it to work in the vehicle without needing a New or Virgin BCM using SW27. However, when the BCM is locked, you need to swap to a NEW RFA to erase old keys in both the RFA & BCM - and Lock50 lets you do this without changing the BCM.
After swapping the RFA and updating Lock50 software, go to PEPS Options and run the "Replace RFA" command
The vehicle will complete the Replace RFA process successfully without any errors
Error messages: "2 Keys Required or Authentication Failed" or "Less than 2 Keys found"
If doing a spare key, you can swap back the Original RFA - the client's old key will still work and nothing is broken
When you have a vehicle with both Locked RFA and Locked BCM, you have these options to make keys:
Use the SW28 Paid function to bypass the locked BCM and still adapt a new RFA only - without needing a new BCM. Found in Special Functions.
If the car has UWB, use the SW36 Paid Duplicator option to copy keys without changing RFA - even when BCM and RFA are locked. Faster method for new keys on Lock50 Keys.
Use SW30 to add OEM Keys into the Locked RFA & BCM when you have 2 working keys to add the 3rd key - supply an OEM Key to your clients.
The SW28 function allows you to bypass locked BCM and adapt a new RFA - avoiding the need to swap or remove the BCM module
RFA Must Be Swapped
You MUST swap to a new RFA module when using SW28. This is required to erase old keys from the system.
BCM Never Needs Swapping
You NEVER need to swap the BCM - that's the whole advantage of SW28! Keep the original BCM in place.
For 2021+ cars which have been back to Dealerships for software updates, other tools cannot program keys without first putting a new BCM in the car. SW28 eliminates this requirement.
SW28 Solution:
When you NEED to ERASE lost keys
Faster for making new keys
Add OEM keys to system
SW28 supports all models when RFA is locked and allows you to erase keys in the BCM to block emergency start on older lost keys at the same time.
Plus other BCM types - check compatibility
Must swap to new RFA module
Never swap BCM - keep original in place
Works with BCM mitigation updates applied
If you have SW40 with C+ package, you can unlock the EVA2 RFA if you wish to erase or add keys without needing to swap the RFA.
C+ Advantage: Unlock locked RFA modules and manage keys without hardware replacement - the most advanced option available.

You need a new RFA to use this function for 21+ Cars which have been back to Dealerships for Software updates and cannot be programmed with other tools without first putting a new BCM in the Car. Lock50 allows you to avoid messing with BCM or having to remove it - and can program keys to a New RFA via OBD with HW04 Lock50 tools.
When BCM mitigation update has been applied - you must swap to a new RFA, but BCM never needs swapping with SW28
Adapt only new RFA without needing to remove the BCM and without swapping to any new ones
This function is only needed if you need to erase lost keys - otherwise use SW36 key copy or SW30 OEM key add options
You can order the Licence to do it yourself anytime for your device serial number. Supports all models when RFA is locked.
No module removal required
Original data preserved
Real-time progress tracking
Proven reliability
When RFA change does not work and a new BCM change is needed - this will let you program the keys without changing to a new BCM.
Supports All Models when RFA is Locked and allows you to erase keys in the BCM to block emergency start on the older lost keys at the same time.
Upgrade to HW04-B or higher for full capabilities with new RFA modules
